Overview

The Director of Business Development is responsible for generating new revenue streams and driving new business opportunities from capture decision to contract award.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain successful relationships with prospective and existing clients within Civilian/DoD organizations.
  • Consistently meet sales and profitability goals.
  • Must generate new business with named accounts
  • Manage bid strategy and oversee the development of the technical, management and cost strategies to ensure a winning proposal.
  • Highly customer-focused and success-motivated with proven experience engaging and influencing internal and external senior executives.
  • Identifies leads and new business opportunities through consistent customer contact and a thorough understanding of customer needs and requirements within assigned agencies.
  • Must establish and execute a robust capture process including;
  • Identification of new opportunities to include qualification of the lead and expenditure allocations
  • Strategy to capture the lead including a formal bid/no bid review and pricing strategy, collaborating with key members of the GKG staff
  • Coordinate with the B&P team regarding proposal development and the price to win strategy
  • Post award debrief and/or transition to operations for contract start up
  • Identifies and maintains relationships with teaming partners, overseeing and coordinating negotiations and fostering relationships with existing teammates and federal stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Responsible for creating win strategies, solutioning, competitive analysis, themes and discriminators all focused on successfully winning the work.
  • Conducts opportunity review and forecasting using tools such as FPDS, GovWin and other industry accepted tools.
  • Develop responses and strategies for Request for Information (RFI)

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s required, MBA highly preferred.
  • 10+ years of proven business development and capture experience.
  • Proven track record of capture and win of large ($100+ million) government contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience applying a variety of strategic frameworks to guide and develop solutions.
  • Sound, ethical, business judgement and excellent working knowledge of the FAR are critical.
  • Experience with different types of government contract types.
  • Proven experience effectively using the Microsoft Suite of products including Excel and maintaining Salesforce or a similar CRM tool.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with key internal and external leaders, business partners and customers.
  • Proven track record of strategy planning, development and execution, specifically within a period of growth and/or transition.
  • Proven track record of managing federal contracts and a business development pipeline.
  • Must possess strong executive presence, presentation and communication skills.
