Overview

GKG is seeking a HR - Classification Specialist to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Organizational/Position Assessment. Will review the mission and functional statements, organizational charts, position descriptions, and other relevant documents to gather information regarding the primary purpose of the position, its relationship to other positions in the organization, external interrelationships, and any other factors important to fully understanding the position.
  • Conduct Desk Audits (as needed). 
  • Position Descriptions. Based on information gathered during a desk audit, a supervisory interview, and/or other information sources identified, Contractor will develop a description of the duties and responsibilities assigned to a position, the classification factors, and the competencies required to satisfactorily perform the work of the position. Position descriptions are written in plain language and clearly communicate the actions an incumbent must perform in the position, with factor descriptions that are consistent with the assigned duties and responsibilities. 
  • Evaluation Statement. Contractor will develop either a comprehensive evaluation statement or a summary evaluation statement that documents a thorough analysis of the positions’ characteristics in comparison with appropriate position classification standards, and will include a recommended title, series, and grade based on the analysis. 
  • Position Description (PD) Library Development. Contractor will develop the requirements for the Government to create a secure, web-accessible PD library for OIG maximum functionality. Contractor will offer conversion of paper PDs to electronic format.
  • PD Library Maintenance Plan. Contractor will develop a long-term maintenance plan. Plan must include an update of position descriptions on a regular basis (e.g., when positions become vacant, to support workforce reshaping efforts, every 5 years) to ensure they continue to accurately reflect the position’s responsibilities.
  • PD System Implementation and Training. Contractor will strategically implement the new PD
    classification system by coordinating, scheduling and conducting training sessions and announcements for all stakeholders. 
  • Classification Consulting. On an as needed basis, Contractor will be available to offer classification consulting services to the organization.

 

Qualifications

  • 8 years or more of performing classification duties for Federal Government agencies.
  • Experience working with PD Libraries.

Must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination status or obtain an approved accommodation request (as required by law) within 30 days of employment.

Desired Qualifications

  • An Associate’s Degree in any field of study.
