GKG is seeking a Payroll Specialist that will be responsible for providing timely and accurate payroll support. The Payroll Specialist is responsible carrying out the payroll functions of the organization ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately and in compliance with government regulations. The ideal candidate will have prior Payroll experience within the federal government contracting space, and experience working with ADP Workforce Now.

• Implements, maintain and reviews payroll processing and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes and other deductions.
• Process payroll using ADP, review transactions for accuracy, record time sheets, breaks and leave requests etc.
• Assist staff with inquiries related to payroll, leave accruals, wage deductions, fringe benefits, and other payroll related issues
• Process garnishments: file and maintain employee data files, labor/payroll related documents and records accurately
• Communicate basic payroll processes to personnel and assist them in completing standard documents/forms
• Knowledge of basic federal HR policies and payroll regulations, rules and procedures
• Process Health and Welfare payments for SCA employees, in keeping with wage determination regulations.
• Reconciles payroll to the general ledger and/or monthly bank statements.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations and changes to pay rates.
• Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices.
• Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll batch data in both the accounting and payroll systems.
• Processes employee accruals and expense reimbursements.
• Enters expense reimbursements into payroll or coordinate directly with accounting on any manual check issuance.
• Follow up with stakeholders on expenses and collecting information to categorize them correctly.
• Other accounting duties when time is available.

• A Bachelor’s required.
• 5+ years of experience supporting payroll functions
• Prior experience with payroll automation systems such as ADP Workforce Now
• Detail-oriented; good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain professional decorum
• Strong technical skills with the MS Office suite.
• Willingness to learn different processes and applications.
• Excellent organizational skills.

• Experience with JAMIS ERP preferred.
