Overview

GKG is seeking a Buyer to join our team for an upcoming contract award in support of INSCOM.  

Responsibilities

  • Research purchasing requirements for Task Order/customer requirements.
  • Prepare portfolio reports and propose cost saving initiatives within product range.
  • Forecast levels of demand for products and consistently check on product stock levels.
  • Identify, test, and recommend new products within product range.
  • Serve as the liaison between suppliers, manufacturers, purchasing managers and other internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct research to determine the best products and suppliers in terms of value, delivery schedules, and quality.
  • Understanding of INSCOM IT procurement process (CHESS) and ability to coordinate directly with INSCOM G-6 as necessary.
  • Prepare market analysis of competitor products, pricing, promotions, packaging, trends, loyalty programs and marketing initiatives.
  • Prepare detailed narratives to justify purchase including sole source documentation.
  • Evaluate bids, select, and recommend suppliers. Negotiate price, delivery, quality and service. Follow up on all awards until completion of order.
  • Responsible for purchasing a variety of complex or technical supplies or services.
  • Prepare special reports and financial studies for management and alert them to significant variances to plan.
  • Develop purchasing packages with appropriate requests for proposals or quotes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Final Top-Secret Clearance based upon a TIER 5 Background Investigation and favorable eligibility determination for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) IAW ICD 704.
  • Associate’s degree in Purchasing/Procurement, Business Administration or a related field from an accredited university/college with four (4) years of experience; or Military equivalent training and two-three years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field with six years of related purchasing experience.
  • Associate’s degree in business with minimum of 24 credit hours in Business Related Classes plus eight years related purchasing experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of FAR/DFAR and other applicable government regulations.
  • Fluent in English both reading and writing.
  • US Citizenship.
