Overview

The Human Resources Assistant provides operational HR support services related to personnel actions, personnel records management, employee data management, document processing, and personnel transaction support. The position assists in maintaining personnel records, validating service computation dates, processing personnel actions, and supporting HR operations in accordance with federal regulations.

 

Note** This position is being recruited in support of potential future contract awards, and qualified candidates may be considered for upcoming opportunities supporting federal government clients.

Responsibilities

  • Review Official Personnel Folders and supporting documentation to validate Service Computation Dates.
  • Maintain electronic and hard-copy personnel files and HR case records.
  • Research HR policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Scan, index, organize, and maintain personnel records and supporting documentation.
  • Input, update, and validate employee data within Government HR systems.
  • Process personnel actions and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with personnel and payroll-related issue resolution activities.
  • Generate reports and compile workforce data for HR specialists and management.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable OPM, DHS, and USCG requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum four (4) years of experience providing federal human resources support services.
  • Working knowledge of EmpowHR and National Finance Center (NFC) systems.
  • Experience independently coding and processing personnel actions using OPM guidance.
  • Ability to maintain sensitive personnel records and information.
  • Experience working with personnel files and electronic records systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required Government suitability determination and system access.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting personnel action processing for federal agencies.
  • Familiarity with eOPF, NFC, and federal personnel data systems.
  • Experience supporting retirement, staffing, and classification programs.
  • Strong Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Existing DHS or federal suitability determination.
